I have been getting invitations to vote for a young Nigerian lady who is being nominated by no less than CNN as a world hero. I am happy for her and the strides she has achieved, teaching young girls from poor families – precisely from Makoko (one of Nigeria’s many slums) – how to code....
While everyone else is busy pursuing Buhari’s WAEC certificate – something he clearly doesn’t have and which does not matter as much as we make it – the economy has collapsed. Everywhere I turn we see all the debris, the remains of a once promising economy. The carelessness, mismanagement and open looting has never been...

Nonsensical, simply means (because) it makes no sense – its synonyms include meaningless, senseless, illogical, unmeaning. Nigeria’s oil and gas industry is her mainstay. So the government says. I hear that most people gunning for the position of President of Nigeria are doing so just to lay their hands on that industry. It’s no wonder the...

I used to keep the list of ‘spurious’ loans that were written off for Nigeria in 2006. Our leaders in the 70s, 80s and 90s had collected all sorts to build different monstrosities of their bizarre fancies. In those days even local government chairmen collected foreign loans.
