Nigeria borrows….

November 23, 2019by Tope Fasua0

we borrow to send our children to school

we borrow to fix our roads

we borrow to provide infrastructure

we borrow to pay salaries

we borrow to pay allowances to senators

then we borrow to buy them luxury cars

we borrow to put our presidential airfleet afloat

and to pay landing charges when it parks at London Heathrow for months

we borrow to ‘dash’ poor people money

and to give rice to our little children in schoo;

we borrow to build health centres

But we need to borrow more, to put Phensic inside them

we borrow so that the children of the rich may study abroad

and so that their toddlers may fly first class to dubai on a whim

we borrow to treat our big men’s small illnesses abroad

and then borrow to fly them back for burial when they die

we borrow to sustain our oppressors too

we even borrow to loot and embezzle

wetin we no go borrow for?

dem say debt no be our problem

i agree.

na when time to pay reach we go hear am

in fact, in s short while, we will have to borrow, in order to be able to borrow

na so

(i stopped writing about our borrowing. this rant is just for the two or more new borrowings we want to do. again.)
